Good Soil Training Energizes Togo Ministry Partner

When Germain Fayosseh came to ABWE headquarters for the Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship (GSED) seminar and trainer certification in May of 2018, his enthusiasm was contagious. Dr. Sharon Rahilly, the director of ABWE’s nursing schools in Togo, had encouraged and provided for him to come and he was overflowing with joy and thankfulness. “The opportunity of a lifetime,” he told us. “This is exactly what I need for my ministry of evangelism and training and equipping church leaders, nursing students, and other believers back in Togo.” Even though English is not his first language, he listened and participated fully, and left with as many French copies of The Story of Hope that weight restrictions for his suitcase permitted...

Bible Students' Lives Changed by The Story of Hope

It began as just the next lesson in The Story of Hope. For several weeks, Pastor Dennis Nkosi of Crossroads Community of Christ Church in Durban, South Africa, had been teaching a group of sixteen students, including two pastors. That Monday night, the group studied the event of the bronze serpent in the wilderness. The Israelites had rebelled in unbelief against God, and He punished them in judgment with deadly serpent bites. When the people confessed their sin and Moses prayed for deliverance, God provided a way to be saved from death. They needed to look and respond to God in faith in order to be restored. During the lesson, there was a palpable tension in the room. The students left the room that night clearly troubled...

Filipino Police Force Being Ministered to with Good Soil Resources

Joseph Blasco and his wife Evangeline were Christian schoolteachers in the Rizal province of the Philippine when they were introduced to the Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship training. It had an immediate impact on them, and they became actively engaged in making disciples and passing on the training to others. At their own church, Emmanuel Baptist in Taytay, they trained many of their fellow members with some incredible results...

Philippine House of Representatives Receive The Story of Hope

From the very beginning, the standard for Good Soil resources has been “to make them of such quality that high government officials won’t be offended to receive them.” That is exactly what came about in the Philippines recently. In 1986, the Philippine Bible Society designated January as National Bible Month. That celebration was officially recognized in 2017 by the current government through a presidential proclamation. This year, there were events and activities planned all over the country, including the Philippines Prayer Breakfast on January 27th in Manila, hosted by boxer Manny Pacquiao, in which Ravi Zacharias was the keynote speaker.

Ukrainians Take Good Soil Training to Armenia

Vladimir Nikolaev is the director of the Church Ministries Institute (CMI) based in Ukraine. The CMI was founded by ABWE missionaries in 1994 and is dedicated to preparing men and women for quality ministry in the local church, equipping them with discipleship and evangelism training, and enabling them to build growing churches throughout Eurasia. The few evangelical Baptist churches in Armenia have been partnering with the CMI to start a Bible school in Armenia under the leadership of Haik Khachaturian. This past fall, Vladimir, Haik and others had the opportunity to hold the first Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship seminar in Armenia with some incredible results.
