Released Time Bible Instruction – A Supreme Court Protected Ministry to Public School Students
Scriptures have been and can be legally taught on a devotional basis at a time set aside during the school day when public school students, with parental permission, leave the school premises to attend religious education classes led by religious or community groups. These classes, known as Released Time programs, are held off school premises, usually in a nearby religious facility.
Since its inception in 1914, millions of students from kindergarten through high school have participated. Currently it is estimated over 250,000 students participate. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld Released Time as protected by the Constitution of the United States

Stories
The Lycée Scientifique, a special government school in Togo, is home to the top 120 high school students in science and math. These students represent different tribal groups and religions from all over the country. Togo missionary Jane Schmitz had a yearning to reach them with the gospel. After much prayer, she approached the principal of the school and offered a class on The Story of Hope in French. Jane has always had a heart for evangelism and discipleship, and she was a part of the original group that helped launch Good Soil. The principal responded very favorably to the idea, since the materials being used were a study of the Bible, not a religion.
