Basic Discipleship in Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea
James is a Christian young man who attends a teacher’s college in Papua New Guinea. Earlier in the year, James presented the gospel to six of his friends. They responded by professing their faith in Jesus Christ. Even though English isn’t their native language, all of these young men can read and speak English. Realizing that these six “new believer” friends needed to be discipled, James asked Bill Smith, leader of the ABWE missionary team in Papua New Guinea, about the availability of discipleship materials in English. Bill gave James seven copies of The Way to Joy. James took his friends through a study of The Way to Joy and reported to Bill that the studies went very well and he appreciated the material.
Have a Good Soil Story?
If you have a Good Soil Story from your recent experience in evangelism or discipleship, we would love for you to share it with us so that others can be encouraged by God’s gracious work in the people’s lives.
Here’s how it works:
- Send us the details of your story. As you do so, you may want to anonymize the story—use fictitious names or generic references to the people in the story—if you are concerned about using actual names. If you know that it is appropriate to do so, we welcome the use of actual names.
- Our editorial staff will proofread and edit (as much as is appropriate) the story.
- We will send the edited story back to you for your final “release for publication” approval.
- The story will be added here, and possibly be used in other ABWE publications.
