  • Longing for a process to help you design and deliver memorable presentations and training sessions?

Trainers: Dave & Sue Arch

Dave and Sue Arch graduated from Grace University (formerly Grace College of the Bible). In 1974 Dave received the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Pastoral Ministries and was ordained by the Baptist General Conference in 1976.

  • Discover a six-step process for designing presentations and training sessions that consistently engage participants.
    1. Step One:
Mind Map Learn a quick and easy visual method for determining the content needed for your training/teaching sessions.
    2. Step Two:
Define Objectives Decide what you want participants to know, be able to do, and to feel, as a result of your training/teaching.
    3. Step Three:
Prioritize Content Differentiate between the content that participants really “need to know” and that which is only “nice to know.” Also, determine what content you should tell them “where to go” to find, if needed.
    4. Step Four:
Outline Content Based upon the visual “mind map,” organize the teaching content into an outline form.
    5. Step Five:
Chunk Content Based upon three outline, organize the teaching content into CPR “chunks” (bite-size segments) that can be taught in about 20 minutes. Each chunk includes some (1) new content and time to (2) process that content. A (3) review activity should occur after two or three chunks (40-60 minutes period).
    6. Step Six:
Insert Activities Explore 37 alternatives to lecture that will add options to your presentational toolkit.
  • Practice your new-found skills in a safe environment with feedback designed to accelerate application of what you learn.
  • Observe the seminar facilitators model many engaging instructional methods and educational best practices in a fast-paced, highly interactive learning environment.

The Roots of Faith

Interactive and Engaging

In The Roots of Faith courses you will learn…

  • The basic content of the Old and New Testaments.
  • The chronology of 100 major Bible events—how the Bible progressively unfolds from Genesis to Revelation.

  • Plus, you will learn how to teach The Roots of Faith to others, even those from non-Christian worldview cultures whose thinking may still be infected by pagan beliefs and practices.

The Roots of Faith - Old Testament

Basic Missional Theology

Basic Missional Theology provides the student with an understanding of the doctrinal truths of the Word of God in a challenging learning environment.   The basic text explores the categories of systematic theology, and introduces some of the doctrinal problems and issues that are faced by believers who serve Jesus Christ where worldviews collide.  Examples from many different cultures abound, illustrating the various ways in which worldview, culture, and human problems influence the development of theology around the world.

Rather than a restatement of the material tackled by the textbook, the classroom portion of the course engages the students in discussions and activities that foster clear thinking about the teachings of the Scriptures, and that encourage the development of critical skills for understanding and influencing healthy theological development within and across cultures.

BMT includes 44 hours of in-class instruction over the space of two weeks (Monday through Friday).  The student is expected to read the appropriate section of the textbook before the class (and that includes reading the Prolegomena unit, which will be supplied to the student early enough to allow preparation for Monday).
